I’m Mike Beighey, and I’ve been fishing Bass Lake since I was in grade school. I’m a true local, and for over 15 years, I’ve dedicated my professional life to guiding anglers here.
Unlike large commercial operations, when you book with me, you fish with me. You get the benefit of decades of local knowledge from someone who knows this lake's patterns and hidden spots better than anyone. Kokanee Salmon and Rainbow Trout are the only two species that we guide for.
Rainbow Trout fishing at Bass Lake is good through the winter and great in the spring to early summer. March through June our boats will typically hook up with 20 plus fish in the morning hours. It's up to you to land them and decide if you are keeping or releasing.
Kokanee Salmon become active mid May and use to provide a great summertime fishery at Bass Lake. The peak months for Kokanee are June, July and August is when they peak in size. We jig for them through September just for fun.

Comfort on the Water: We fish aboard a 21-foot Sun Tracker Fishing Barge, specifically chosen for its stability and open layout. Unlike cramped fishing hulls, the barge offers plenty of room to walk around, comfortable seating for everyone, and an exceptionally smooth ride.
Capacity: Comfortably accommodates up to 5 guests.
Professional Grade: We proudly equip our boat with Lamiglas rods, the industry standard for strength and sensitivity. These high-quality rods give you the control needed to feel the bite and confidently land trophy Kokanee and Trout.
Precision Depth: To ensure we get the bait exactly where the fish are hiding, we use Scotty Downriggers. Known for their precision depth control, these units allow us to target specific water columns with accuracy, leading to a more productive day of fishing.

Everything you need to be ready for the water.
Yes. Anyone 16 years or older must have a valid California Fishing License. You can easily purchase one online from the CDFW website or at Miller's Landing before we head out.
Just about everything! We provide all the rods, reels, tackle, bait, and safety gear you'll need. We also have a cooler with ice for your snacks and drinks. You just need to bring your license and a smile.
Absolutely! We love introducing new anglers to the sport. Whether it's your first time holding a rod or you're a seasoned pro, Mike will guide you every step of the way to ensure you have a fun and successful trip.
